Questionable Hamlet paraphrasing aside, I have been debating back and forth in my mind for some time now whether or not I should try and make SNE this year. It had been established as essentially a sure fire thing until a recent bout of travelling + live tournaments. Due to a one-year-only rule in Stars VIP program it would have been possible for me to maintain SNE and keep it for next year having only maintained the 50k VPPs per month rather than hitting the million – and that was what I had changed my plans to do. It may still be the end result however not one to shy away from a challenge, the dash to SNE is starting to look appealing again.
I currently sit on 567,008.56 VPPs. To hit the million would rely on an incredible November and December – each 200k months, a feat I have come close to in the past but never hit. I’ll basically need to increase both my hours and number of tables to achieve it:
For the last year I have been steady on about an 8 table average (usually anywhere from 4-12, sometimes up to 15). I played a session yesterday where I was 21 tabling for an hour and a half and while it was draining it wasn’t absurd and with a bit more practice I’m pretty sure it would be almost comfortable. I’m also almost certain I played winning poker during the session which doesn’t hurt.
There’s no doubt there will need to be some crazy 10+ hour days in the mix for me to hit my goal. This has been done before and while it can be both physically and mentally draining it’s nothing too difficult. I prefer to play longer days and add some days off rather than shorter days but having to play every single day.
Here’s my YTD graph:
I’ll be blogging more frequently and with more poker content during this time for sure. Hope all is well with everyone out there
Let’s finish this year off with a bang.
